I say this with a light sense of humor of course, but i am very happy with the modifications made to the site Ego Thieves - Home Of The Independently Big Headed. If anyone would like to know how ive done any of this as ive answered a few questions to friends who also purchased the theme after seeing mine then fire away Wont be able to answer in an instant but should get back to any if asked.

Best One-theme site in the community? I would have to say... yes! At least that I've seen, and I try to make it my business to know what the newest mods and plugins are that people in the wp and ot communities are using.

I am currently in the early stages of setting up a new site now and I would love to incorporate some of the customizations that you made to your theme. I have a few questions for you regarding your setup:

1) I see that you're using banner zest. Did you purchase the standard or the pro version of the software? Trying to figure out if I need to spend the full $129 for the pro

2) How did you embed the two banners on the homepage of the site, both next to the featured post box where the video normally is, as well as underneath it?

3) What plugin are you using to display the "lighbox style" pictures and audio clips that hover over the webpage when clicked? I am using multibox but yours configuration looks different... Also, are you able to display videos in the "hover box" as well? If so, how?

4) How do you make your pictures link to other blog posts within the site?

Lastly...

5) How do you remove the third sidebar that displays the categories Archives, Blogroll, RSS, and Meta and expand the width of the post?

I would appreciate any Feedback you could give regarding these inquires. I think I speak for the entire one-theme community when I say that we always appreciate when someone like yourself is willing to share their success with the rest of us. Can't wait to see what your site will look like when 2.0 is released...

Appreciate the feedback Very tired and crazy so will answer a few of your questions atm. Banner Zest Pro is a must purchase for anyone, especially with the SDK coming and people making their own themes. If you can afford it, very much worth the money! I will post up the code were i pasted the banner zest/banner code when i have a tad more time but its actually quite simple (as most these things are when you know how). For the plugin i use its Shadowbox JS Wordpress Plugin | Sivel.net Shadowbox is amazing and very easy though i am holding back on allot of stuff at the mo in waiting for 2.0 to be released.

Not sure what pictures you mean mate?

To remove the sidebar and stretch the content i simply followed the tutorial found on this forum here How to Remove the 3rd Sidebar & Stretch Content really works, just follow the instructions exact.

Ive also done things like removed the main thumbnails on the front page layout as it really messed with the structure when adding videos etc. Ive also changed allot of the style.css/style of the page because the standard was not to my liking at all. Plus loads of other lil tweaks here and there.

Thanks for the feedback my friend. I'm incredibly anxious to hear what else you have done to the site. I tried shadowbox, which was an excellent and very streamline plugin but had to revert back to multibox as it supports the seamless integration of pdf documents. I am also curious about how you were able to change the font style and size on the category bars underneath the header? This looks very sleek! Would you mind explaining?

It's unfortunate that just as I was about to purchase bannerzest pro per your recommendation, I realized that it is a mac based software. Bummer! As you can probably tell from my disappointment, I am a pc user -- one who was really looking forward to implementing those effects! Do you know of a way to use this software on a windows based system?

If not, then I would like to may make a proposal: I am certain that you are a very busy person (maintaining Ego Theives and probably a litany of other websites), but perhaps you would be willing to allow me to hire you to create a few banners for my site. Nothing complex, just maybe two or three banners in all. I'm sure we could work out a reasonable price for this... that is, if your interested.
